Making a Rooster friendly?

I bought a Silkie Rooster from the fowl Auction this weekend. He's gorgeous, and I would like to make a nice pet out of him. I held him for awhile after I bought him, and he was calm. Once we got home and he got comfortable, he didn't want to be bothered. I have tried holding him a couple times, and he's not as calm, but I think a little time and patience may help?

Do you think I would be able to make a good pet out of him? Any tips on what to do in order to make him friendly?

You could try feeding him something good on the side like fruit, yogurt, bread, etc... That always helps when I try to tame a bird.
