okay, I know this isn't a new topic, but i have view a number of teh home made incubators and need to get several questions answered all at once. what the heck is a wiggler, how do you control the tempature with such a heat source, and lastly, everyone that has displayed their version of an incubator has apparently taken the same class, where did the basic model idea come from? I have got to build one of these.

... Second, nope.. no classes here.. Just did a lot of research on incubators and how to make a homemade one.. As far as the temp goes, the higher the wattage, the brighter and hotter it will be.. There is a bit of science that goes along with building your own but I wouldn't exactly say it's *rocket* science... Mine was designed similar to Miss Prissy's but mine is still air which means i don't have a fan or thermostat to regulate the temp.. i just have to watch it and adjust it by adding more styrofoam or opening a vent hole depending on if it's too hot or too cold... As for a water wiggler, I don't have one as my bator is very small and really don't have the room for it unless i only want to hatch 3 or 4 chicks but here is a thread to show you...

someone posted on how to make a water wiggler....you get a ziplock bag, put water in it, put in into another one for safety reasons, leakage....and then fold it together held by two pony tail rubber bands....worked for them.
