Same here. I just got lucky and got the coloring . Personally if you have the space, I'd hold on to at least that one until it's colored out

Space? yeah, I got that - and plenty of older birds that need to go first. Headed out to start on that now.

Let's check on the status of the flock, shall we?

Not as mature as i thought he was. Liver was firm and glossy, but not as dark or consistent in color as i like to see. Pulled some of the kidneys as well so you can see mottling i associate with the higher calcium diet, but no chalkiness or lesions -i consider this acceptable risk management.

Based on live weight, yield should be about 4.18#, less skin. How did the butcher do?

I'd say he did alright. Based on this bird, flock health is fine. Two to go .
