Making Lemonade [Selective Culling Project - very long term]

Its ok, I'm sharing in hopes others can avoid repeating my mistakes. I knew the switch was damaged, but after it stayed on 24 hours, I relaxed. Too much it seems.

Hoping to finish the grow out box in the barn, where I can use a heat lamp temporarily (secured by metal chain) until my wife repairs the heat plate).

1 1/2" of rainfall last night. Winds gusting to 17? mph. My toes is danged cold.

Last hatch? Blending w/ blackberries.

DH keeps saying we should move to Alaska. My answer is 3-fold: No, Hell no! and FNHELLNO!!

How are your little ones today?
Doing all right. The last two in incubator didn't hatch, gave up. Another of the littles got itself caught on the foot for the incubator, so... just four out of this last batch. :(

Obviously I'm disappointed, had much higher hopes for using the barn to incubate, but something(s???) about it clearly isn't right - and since we can't hear the distress, we are missing the opportunity to discover and correct it. Lesson learned.

Taking one of last weeks hes (so now rested almost seven days) and going to sous vide at 150*, six hours, in a bit of sweet baby ray's chipotlye honey bar b q sauce (as an alternative to the classic salt, pepper, butter). Will let you know tonight. Doing the bird whole to reduce risk of bones poking thru the bag. It it works, I want to do the same with an equally old rooster for comparison.

If it doesn't, I have a back up dinner plan.
Will repoirt back this evening
