That's how I knew how much Lye to order. The website is well recommended by numerous sources. Agree.

Finally caught up. I've been reading this thread for the past few weeks on and off to catch up.

Doesn't lather well, texture was off. Works. I had an issue with the lye water - some boiled out when I agitated it, which thru off the ratios. Natural soap recipes (all recipes, I assume) are VERY sensative to the amount of lye for saponification.

When I'm done the 10 remaining bars, I'll do it again, using my failures to improve on the process.

What fats did you end up using for the soap? The boiling out definitely would have affected the final product.

Almost entirely goat tallow. Did use a bit of olive oil, a pinch of salt, and not enough corn syrup. The sugar and salt were to improve hardness and lather.

Two Pekin ducks have hatched. Expecting one more - of twelve set.

Four infertile, five quits. I have terrible luck with hatching my ducks, but at least no contaminated eggs this time.
