We purchased one of those hobby coops to put are babes in. They have just gotten to big to keep inside anymore. My hubby is working hard on building them their coop, but only having one day a week to work on it makes the process a slow one. Tonight is their first night out and now it is storming. They won't go in the house part. Just stand there in the yard (under roof) looking towards the porch with disappointment. Just breaks my heart. :hit

I think you will need to put them inside their coop. Sometimes they don't know to go in until they get put in a few times.
X2. Hen raised chicks or those brooded in a flock follow the leads of other birds, you are the flock that must teach them what to do

And to add to what others have said...I put mine in the coop when they're ready to go outside and don't let them out for a few days to teach them that this is "home".

This is one of those cheap ones like you get a Rural King. Can't close them in it. But I will be doing just that as soon as their permanent home is built.

Thank you all for the reply's. Today was a beautiful day. My Babes were loving it. Till about 30 minutes ago. Yep, another storm. I ran out and put the tarp back on one side the way the rain is blowing. They are lined up on the other side watching the rain. Just thankful the temperature isn't dipping down like yesterday. They seemed to be enjoying the inside today once I removed the dividers. Hoping they go in at night fall.
