Making protein extremely high!!!

Doesn’t matter if it is non-gmo, organic or what???
Are you sure???

To clarify my point, I am not advocating any particular type of feed (commercial, non-gmo, organic, etc.) only that you feed your flock a nutritionally balanced feed that meets their daily dietary requirements whether it be a commercial feed, non-gmo or certified organic. Your choice of feed is after all YOUR choice. Do your research to determine the daily nutritional requirements for your birds based on whether they are an egg producing breed, dual purpose breed, large fowl, bantams or a mixed flock. Then choose a feed that closely matches your birds needs factoring in if you free range your birds of if they are pen raised.

My best advice is to use your eyes, not your heart or head, to gauge the health of your flock after you have fed your choice of feed for at least a couple of months. If your birds look and act healthy then they are healthy and I would say you have chosen well. If you are not satisfied with the condition of your birds then try a different feed until you are satisfied. I have tried many different brands and types of feed of comparable protein and nutrient content over the years and, honestly, I have seen no significantly measurable difference in the health of my birds but that is just my personal experience. Personally, I feed a nutritionally balanced commercial feed with 20% protein content because anything less than 20% my birds tend to feather pick. I know fellow chicken keepers that feed nutritionally balanced commercial, non-gmo or organic feeds with 16-28% protein content whose birds do very well, but that is their experience.

Never ever let anyone shame you into feeding a particular brand or type of feed based solely on their opinions or beliefs of what is right. These people are not experts on your flock, only you are the expert of your flock. If you do the research and trust your eyes your birds will be all right.

Take Care,
Keith

I think the birds will loose interest in the soybean meal, if that is all they are offered. It will be shy on vitamins, minerals and energy. Then you may have issue with how it tastes to the chickens.
I will add all the minerals and vitamins required to make a developer feed (second stage).
