And this beauty, beyond my current skill level, but nice to look at just the same....

Hard to believe they used pallet wood to make that greenhouse. Maybe the floor inside?

...at a further away feed store, they did it (loaded my car) without any problem, and of course I tipped the guy...

Where I live, we have a drive-up spot at the Fleet store where the guys just load the feed. No tip required or expected. But I live in a small town where tips are not expected for doing your job, ... except for dining out.

it has been standing at the wrong place (where I usually hang my laundry) for the last 3 weeks, I am seriously thinking about hiring someone, but hubby hates every cent I spend on animals 🫣

That's too bad. I don't know how many chickens you have, but is it possible to find someone who has a youth group that would bring over the kids to move the coop? Sometimes those youth group leaders are just looking for good deeds to help others. It's good for the kids to see how their efforts benefit others, while at the same time, it makes them better citizens. Well, my opinion anyways. Maybe you could pay them back in future egg donations to their charity? Just spit balling some ideas...

I have 14 chickens. In Germany we don’t have a lot of youth organizations, and if, more in Berlin. Most Germans have lost contact to nature , there are some that believe cows are purple cos a certain chocolate company has a purple cow as their logo…but my oldest son is visiting us in a couple of days( with his 1.5 year o daughter) he doesn’t enjoy yard work either, but he is nice to his mother 😉

If my husband ever tried that with me he would be so sorry. Anytime I ask him if he can do something for me he does give me a bit of attitude however he will give in to me ...

:lau Wait a second, are you my Dear Wife just posting under a different name to throw me off!?

:lau Yeah, times change. I have lived in western Europe a number of years (France, Italy) but have made many trips in Germany. I found the German people to be very friendly. I hope you can find someone to help you. I would like to think young people are still expected to help those who would appreciate some kind assistance.

:old I remember working all day for older relatives that could not afford to pay for someone to clean up broken and fallen trees after a storm. I worked my butt off all day and was paid with a home cooked meal for supper. Well, it was a whole family effort, not just me. Dad drove us the two hours to get to their house, and me and my brothers with dad all worked to clean up their property. But that's what we did back in the day to help others who could no longer do some things for themselves.

As long as I was capable of, I used to help my single neighbor in the garden for free, I have gone through very rough times in my youth and am happy to give back. Now that I am no longer physically able to help other, I drive people who need it with the car , like people who move ( only, what fits into my van in one go) or pick up used furniture as long as someone else does the heavy lifting! The thing is, most of my friends now also have issues and can’t help me out either, none of us are getting any younger 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well, I could „force“ him, but then he gets destructive 😬 I once asked him to trim the lawn edge, he hacked all my flowers and stepped on them too 🙄 he really HATES gardening, he says, if he wants to look at flowers ( that urge has not overcome him yet) he can go to a flower show 🤪 since he isn’t interested, he can’t see what is weed and what is important, when I raise tomatoes, he says just buy them in the store, he can’t taste the difference! I didn’t really know about his dislike of gardening cos at first, my 4 kids kept me very busy, then our well dried up, and nothing grows here without irrigation 😬 when we finally got our well fixed ( took a few years cos it is expensive) I finally could start gardening, and hubby met a new me, which wasn’t how he had met me 🤪 maybe his mother’s comment back in the day should have given me a clue, she had all her apple trees hacked down cos she said the apples in the supermarket looked much nicer 🤔
