One rooster to 8 hens.. he seems to favor the less aggressive though.. the two astrolorps and the giant with the issues.. the other girls dont have a bare spot.

Why would he bother with the 'hard to get" girls when he has "easy" girls lining up for him? Only makes sense to me

I LOVE that sound. We have it here, once in a great while. It's a wonderful sound, especially when you're pushing 60!

Out and about with mom, running errands.. Going to lunch and then the feed store. DH tried to get me to repeat... I will not bring home any chicks... Of course I didn't comply. Lol I don't ask for much in life but healthy kids, dogs and chickens. Hahahaha

Sitting down for a little lunch. I got the five foot galvanized welded fence. T posts. Stakes and clips. I hope I get this figured out.

If I may make a suggestion: If you need to join 2 lengths of that fence, to extend a side or install an apron around the bottom to discourage digging predators/pests, check into getting a supply of the clips used for making wire cages, like for rabbits. They take a special tool to install, but they work like a champ, 'specially on level ground.

Those eggs at the market are most usually not fertile as they place the females in a separate pen from the males.

Wouldn't hurt to crack one or two and check
