I'm trying to figure out how to fit all my eggs in the incubator as well as hold 6 spots open for someone else I promised to hatch for......

I had that problem for a little bit as well. I had two extra chicken eggs I wanted to put in so I candled the duck eggs and two of them were clear. Problem solved.

Unfortunately the last ones will go in only 2 days after the first ones. Not enough time to make a decision on clears. I know eventually there will be clears, so I may have to get creative.

Can you stack them, Friday... Take out turners and hand turn.

I have a Brinsea Octo 20 Advanced. There are no turners, the whole incubator tilts back and forth in a cradle. I may end up stacking some of mine, but I'm not sure they won't roll across the tops of the others in the tray as the incubator tilts.

The person I bought eggs from sent a bunch of extras I wasn't expecting. Which is great, but that means I may not be able to fit as many of mine in this round. It's a bummer, because I'm culling my main rooster soon and I want to have a set of his babies running around to grow out.

I'll have to get creative tomorrow.....

If I had a reliable outlet for extra chicks, I'd be tempted. But I only want to keep a dozen chickens by fall, so I'll have to think. Only going to incubate one more batch after this one - then it will get too hot to put young chicks out in the coop.

I will, but I'm not real big on doing craigslist (hate giving out my phone number and don't want to go meet strangers or have them come to the house) The local poultry swap.is on Saturdays, and I'd rather spend the time with DH.

I'll process the extra cockerels, and by summer, probably go to a swap or two to get rid of any extras.

I have a job - not really interested in getting into the poultry business.
