Making use of the old Quail Coop for chicken?

Looks like you have a great start! I would mix up a really strong water/bleach solution and spray the mold down. Let it set for a few minutes then spray it down and scrub it good with a brush. As far as the pea gravels go...skip them, and put 5 or 6 inches of sand on the floor. It drains well and its great for the chickens to dust in. It is also really good at drying the poop out and easy to clean.

Good luck to you....keep us posted on your progress.

Pull the plastic off, clean all the stuff out of it, rake, brush, sweap any thing you can out of it, and then turn a power washer with a bleach solution loose on it and allow it to dry. Give it a coat of paint.

Fix your drainage problem.

Set up some roosts, nestboxes, feeders & waterers.

You don't say where you live. You have snow on the ground but this year just about everybody but Maimi has had snow. That will dictate on whether you need to have more indoor or outdoor space for you birds. More inside if you get lots of snow. I rarely get it (except for this year) My birds have an 8x8 coop and a 40x80 run. this big run isn't covered but the 10x10 dog run is.

You'll need to put something around the bottom of the coop to keep critters out. .

It looks like you have a good start on a great coop. read up on some of the other posts here. Learn what you can about ventilation, chicken health and all of that fun stuff.

Keep up updated. MORE PICTURES!! as you go
