Hye everyone!

I recently joined a class on how we can make our own chicken feed. It was very interesting and i might start for my own flocks. Has anyone had experience from mixing their own feed? I might start with rice bran, soybean meal and bone powder but does anyone else have their own recipes? Ive done the calculations on how many kgs i should add for each ingredients so I’m hopeful theyll eat it. Im worried They won’t though because last time we fed them ricebran mixed with palettes they actually scratch the bran out. Any suggestions on what i could do in case they do it again?

Im also planning on making bokashi/silage. Found a recipe online from banana trunks. But im worried that the fibre value of the trunk is too high for the chickens. Has anyone tried it before? Does the fermentation lessen the fibre value? Does that makes sense 😂😂. I heard if they consume too much fibre they might not grow or not breed or something. But im excited to try thou. Im also starting a small breeding patch for garden snails. Their protein and calcium value is so high!!! Its great for laying hens!! I founded these recipes from an indonesian site. They have great ideas that i want to try. But might do slowly hahah. If any of you know answers to my questions do let me know 🥺🥺.

If you get it wet, they have a harder time scratching it apart. Of course you don't get a lot wet at once-- just enough for one day, so it doesn't have time to spoil before they eat it up.

Fiber takes up space in their crop and digestive system. Some fiber is fine, but if they have too much fiber, they get full before they have enough calories and protein and such.

Thank you so much for your answers! I will try that. I asked the instructor about the bokashi fibre, they said by fermenting it will create holes on the fibre walls to allow the nutrition to seep throu. I gues ill try it first and see. If they show any signs of changes ill instantly change it.
