Malay Chickens Not Perching

My Malay rooster and hens are pretty big yet I've never seen them use perches. Is this normal with long-legged heavy breeds like this or abnormal? Thanks.

I find they only do this during night and such, do they do it then? Make sure the perches are good and stable for them and their feet to grab onto, i find to rap string around it (with non-toxic safe glue works great for a grip) and having it slightly square to grab onto! Try to coax them in by showing them its comfy!

How high are the roosts? Have you ever tried to teach them by putting them on the roosts after dark? How old are they?

I think one is about 3ft, & the other 5ft.

I just put mine on the roosts during the afternoon, repeatedly.

Mine just turned 26 weeks last Friday.
