On a more serious note, how does everyone feel about the Malaysian type? I'm new so not a serious participant in the debate, but either way...you know how they say love it or hate it? I'm kind of on the fence....though some of the pictures that have been posted...do sort of look like mutant deformities, of which I'm not a great fan.

I love the look, but I kinda think they might use THE BOX.... Some are just sooo crazy extreme.. it doenst seem normal.. but then again, I look at Maureen's birds, and hers are crazy typey.... so Im a bit on the fence too.
Dont think Ill choose either way unless I experiment and see what THE BOX does to my birds.. just can bring myself to shove one in there and see what happens, you know? Im scientific about my decisions, and dont think I have all the facts.

BTW--Do you have any BABIES yet!!??!! Should be close now!!

Caramel was sooo funny. I ran out there to snap some pics and Mighty Mouse escaped by jumping on his roost. She kept looking at him upside down! Maybe my feed comes from Maylasia?? Have to check the bag later! lol

Good to see you back on Jessi

Was the Festival of the Horse good? I'll have to try to make it down to that next year. I am however planning a trip to KY soon....

TBH I also think they probably use the BOX on their most promising prospects. Not every culture has the same beliefs with respect to the care and treatment of pets.

As for babies, I thought Patrick was going to call you...there was an incubator incident involving my inattentive husband...I may get 1 out of the three to hatch unless that movement I saw tonight was wishful thinking...I'm on the waitlist for a new shipment of eggs.

Hubby is treating.....

YAY! Pose pic! Sometimes its the pictures!!! This guy has a chest that comes out from his waddles (no neck)--which looks great in the 2nd picture-- good wing position, pinch long in the tail-bed, or I think his head and tail would touch and he would be crazy nice! Very Big comb tho and is his beak white? His legs look yellow, I was wondering if they were connected.

Black Pullet ~ She came from and egg I got from Pampered Poulty
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/53940_black_pp_serama_pullet.jpg

Not too shabby! lol A bit horizontal in this picture and a bit long in the back, but otherwise a decent bird. Yay for yellow legs on a dark hen! Looks like she might have a nice open tail

Chesters Girls.. Horrible shot I know but it shows the brown hen a bit better and well the black hen was zoom to get back under Chet.. LOL

https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/53940_cimg0034.jpg
Cant tell much about the darker hen, but the brown one is a bit U backed and horizontal..are her wings really short? Does she pose?

Calico's Girl

https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/uploads/53940_cimg0037.jpg

This girl seems to be built a bit more to be vertical, but seems to have a neck (no chest) A little long looking in the back, but not too bad. Is her tail opened or closed.

BlueGrass And anyone else for that matter feel free to comment on type/conformation if you wish

Sorry these are not as detailed. Its past my bedtime, and I still have homework!
Everyone remember, these are just critiques by pics, sometimes a bird is totally different in person and birds move a lot. Its hard to get pictures sometimes. Angles can show or hide a lot. If you ever want to buy birds--I suggest seeing the stock in person, or getting a ton of pics of the one you like, or buying from a reputable and honest breeder who will tell you both the good and the bad in their birds.

How many breeding seramas do you have PFF? Do the others come from the guy at the top?

LOL Thanks! Hope to see you soon!

OMG, Festival of the Horse was crazy busy! I was sooo tired from organizing and putting on the Experience the Horse event that was Saturday. I didnt even get to take the kids until Sunday to see all the cool stuff downtown. Im trying to get all the other horse expos and the WEG in this week.
We were in the Parade Friday with my son's Boyscout group, but skipped out on the Big Parade Saturday. We were toooo tired! Plus the weather went cold and it was going to rain a bit during the parade. It was not high on my list to do another parade in the rain, lol

I did win at Horse soccer on Ruca (my awesome apricot dun Paint mare),and got to take one of these home!!!

She was NUTS that day tho for some reason... Maybe starting to cycle? She is the most mellow horse ever, but was acting like a retard alllll day. It was tiring. She wanted to RUN all over.. which is so out of character for her. We didnt do as good this year as we did last year, but it was fun anyway. We would have won more games, but Kelly and I were doing some team games, and we just couldn't FLY, because her saddle kept sliding to the side and we would have to pull short to not fall off. Ruca is a fatty, and this is something that happens, but we had made sure everything was OK that morning when we saddled her up. Had a sticky neoprene pad and breast collar for extra measure even! Ended up later, my off side billet had broken during the day. I finally noticed on the last race, I was going to come in 2nd place finally, but her saddle kept sliding while I was getting on, and it was all the way tight on my side where Kelly had tightened her cinch. Its never that tight on Ole Fatty, so I quit that race and checked my tack and saw that billet was hanging. It was about to break the rest of the way, so Im really glad that I didnt get on and try to gallop to the finish anyways.. that would have HURT hitting the ground or sliding under her feet at a run. Im too old and fat for that anymore, lol
Ruca's 4 year old daughter Savvy won some things, but she lost all the fast games, lol Savvy is the best kid's horse ever, since she only walks and maybe trots, lol. A kid showed up in english riding attire and asked how you could play, and I told her she could go home and get her horse and come back, but she said she didnt own a horse, just took lessons. She was really great around them, so I let her Grandma sign her up and she rode Savvy in all the games. It was fun for everyone tho, but a LOONG day for us and the horses. We were all glad to get home and relax.

My 3 year old, Journey, won a cool Paint Horse book in the raffle, one of four winners! Thanks to the APHA for donating that to raise funds for ETH!!

Here is me in the Team Tacking Race that Kelly and I did. I had to gallop down bareback and help Kelly saddle her up and Kelly got to race back.

This is Chester. One of the same guys from my first post. And no sadly his legs are a white and his beak matches. And yes he has a whooper of a comb.

She was HARD to get any pics at all of. Didnt help my two year old was "fixing" an empty pen and hammering away.. lol She really is alot nicer in person.

I will have to pull her out again in the morning at look her over again. Shes still about 1/2 way broody so to get her to do much other than puff up and walk around is a streach.. lol

Calico's Girl

Her tail makes an upside down V.. so closed at the top then tapers open. Im guessing thats open right.. lol It looks like the black PP Pullet above.

Sorry these are not as detailed. Its past my bedtime, and I still have homework!

I have 3 Breeding pens.. Chester the top guy...lol is not the sire of any chicks yet. I have that black pullet in with him and another pullet that I took another look at and pulled her from breeding as shes the worse out of all of mine. So thats just a pair now. Then I have Chet and those two girls I just posted in with him. Then I have Calico and his hen who is shown above too. I have two "Stag" Roosters and then 3 Cockerels and 11 Pullets as well as around 10+ chicks.. just did a bunch of moving in the brooder pens so need to go back thru them..then about 2.5 dozen eggs

Looks like bantam boiled eggs soon

This is Ruca (APHA) chasing Stied (POA/Appy) with her red-dun daughter Savvy in the back.

Stiedfirstday_ride047.jpg

Here is S.t.i.e.d. (Sounds like "Steed".....He was named that when I got him--Means Stupidest Thing I Ever Did, lol) and Scoundrel(QH) They are two of my grulla colored horses. I love weird colors and duns and grullas!

Stiedfirstday_ride055.jpg

Here is my friend Ollie riding Savvy(SAPHA) . She was never really trained, she was born broke!! I did teach her to bow, and walk backwards when you pull her tail. That day we just put her in a trailer and went on a 2-3 hour trail. Probably the 2nd time she ever saw a saddle. She is such a good girl. You cant see it, but she has roaning, and white poka-dots (Birdcatcher Spots)

Lots more pics here if you like horses--------------- but WARNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sickbyc.gif
There are some graphic pics of an injury.. if you are weak about blood, dont look.
sickbyc.gif

My brothers mare Ginger really really about cut her leg off.. later you can see her tiny scar, and him galloping around on her, so she is fine, but the pics are pretty rough and taken just before the vet sewed her up.

Must... have..... PICS!!! I love paints!! Awww! Why is she deaf? Splashed white gene?
The ball is super fun! They are so bomb proof here, but the ball freaked out everyone but Savvy at first. She still snorts if it sneaks up on her. If you go to that link on the main page, there are the best pics ever of horse playing with these balls!
