I haven't read through this entire thread, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. Re cold hardiness ... I have 8 Seramas outside in their own little rabbit hutch style coop. I do have a heat light in it, as well. It has hovered around 5 degrees, at the coldest here. They have done just fine, and even come outside.

Because I prefer the larger breed poultry, I want to get rid of my Seramas. They are pretty, and sweet, but I just decided not to keep them. Anyone interested, PM me!

I have 6 seramas. 2 roos, 2 hens, 2 babies. Auction is for all 6 together. Adults are about 8 months old.
This is Fred...

And, of course, Betty ... She took over being mother to this baby ... (Bam-Bam)

This is Pebbles, the only Serama I hatched from 12 eggs.

I don't know how many of us subscribe to Poultry Press, but there was a really interesting article on Seramas in the January issue. Just got mine in a couple of days ago.

Oh, and I recently hatched 13 little chicks from Jessi at Bluegrass Seramas. I picked up the eggs from her at Ohio Nationals. I'll post pics as soon as I get some. You all have beautiful birds!

My newest egg- layer, Dorothy!

She just started getting chesty, and I'm liking the way she's growing up. I love the datailing on her feathers, too. If she keeps looking better, she's comming with me to the Cajun Classic in April. Her hatchmate is a little "A" and not as typy, but since this girl suddenly became pretty, I'm not giving up on the other yet.

Haha, yes I am home. But I haven't gotten to takes pics yet. It's too cold! I'll post pics as soon as I take them, though. They've really grown, and are such cuties.

Oh,and by the way, Dorothy is a very pretty girl!

Thanks! She was always "front heavy" even without the chest. I hope her head and neck come back a bit to balance her out.
