I hear you. I looked at getting started with a trio too but couldn't afford it. However, now after all these eggs, lol I probably would have been ahead if I had. I would get eggs from two different sellers. I know Pamperedpoultry sells Serama eggs and Mimis_Place. I got my best eggs/chicks from them and they are reasonable.

I couldn't agree more with you. There has been a lot of "starting things" on this thread lately.

For some reason, the shipping, even candling can mess up the little guys. They are just very delicate. I've other breeds of shipped eggs and experienced 90-100% hatch rate with them. I'm running about 50% right now which I've been told is pretty good. It was hard to accept at first but I'm learning to live with it and hoping to get a nice breeding trio or quad for myself so I don't have to buy shipped eggs all the time. In my opinion, they are worth the effort.

No Doubt! We are all here to share and learn b/c we love these little birds...I have not tried getting eggs shipped. My friend gave me some to hatch, and I have hatched some of my own. I just know they are difficult to hatch when they come from the barn to the house, get turned every day and watched like a hawk once they are in the incubator. But they are SOOOO sweet. Worth the trouble.

well i feel if you go to all that trouble and spend all that money on what eggs that dont hatch and how many more you have to buy i would just contact jerry or anyone that breed them to ship the birds better then eggs you pay a little bit more but you get more bang for your bucks
