Sharing a pic of a "Serama" I saw I a local youth show....

He's standing in front of my 17 & 18-1/2 oz OEGB's, to give you an idea on his size. And he's booted!

He was beautiful. I liked his colors. I'm guessing class D? How heavy can they be for that class? The judge was completely unfamiliar with the breed.

Oh, I was guessing on the one I took a picture of, not yours.

Either way, you're probably right. I didn't hold him, so he may have only appeared heavier than he was. I'm used to seeing small ones, in comparison to my OEGBs so I was really surprised!

The standard for Adult Serama males is 16 ounces. They can be as big as 19.2 oz. without being disqualified. Although the standard for OEGB is bigger than that for Seramas, they are often bred smaller. If judges would start disqualifying underweight birds, you would see OEGB's getting bigger. The SCNA is keeping a close eye on size, and while an ABA judge may overlook a bird's weight, a Serama outside of his range in a table top show will not win.

anyone able to show comparision pic of all sizes of serama, or at least main size types usually seen? Im supposed to get the six to eight inch seramas eggs, at most sounding, but showen that they were about four to six for hens and cocks.. what size class would that be, and would they be considered small seramas?
