We have our first Seramas, hatched out a pair that are 13 wks old and another 6 that are 7 wks old. At what age do these little guys usually start laying?

I would have thought maybe they would lay sooner since they are so tiny and mature so much faster than some of the large fowl breeds.

The cockerels think they are "ready" much sooner than that!
Watch for the reddening of the combs. Different lines seem to mature at different rates and I beleive size can have an effect also. I have birds that were closer to 6 months and some others that were just 5. Really depends on the bird. Some will even lay very tiny pullet eggs at first. Luckily, mine all started with nice sized eggs! Good luck and try to be patient..waiting is the hardest part!!

My first Serama Rooster 6months old. Very calm and friendly. he sits on my shoulder regularly like a parrot. lol

WA4-Hpoultrymom - one of my girls just started laying last week, she hatched out in January so that makes her 6 m/o.
