Thanks, I am very excited to see how it turns out too!

I am having withdrawl at the moment as I have eggs I really wanted to put in the bator but had to set with my lav orps for someone so my little serama eggs are going to go to waist this time around.

The one you refer to as pidgeon colored would that be the bluish one? If so that is not a serama neither is the dark rust black one, those are mutts that hatched with the serama babies

Four boys!?!?!!? My beautiful Stella, who has bestowed upon me five little tinies, is raising four boys!

They're about a month old, and I'm almost certain. I'm raising one in a brooder with others, because Stella started out with five, and I didn't want to overwhelm her on her first clutch, and the brooder chick is a pullet. So get ready, because I will be appealing to you all to share in my joy when they get old enough to ship! I am going to take them from her and see if I can get her to lay again, and I will put her with Primo, my white roo.

I have been

over all these beautiful Serama pictures as I went through this thread. I now have a question for all of you experienced Serama breeders.

Our lil roo is supposed to be around 6-8 weeks old, but has gotten VERY RANDY with the pullets that he's in with. Is this normal behavior for a roo this young? He's actually mounted one of the pullets (they are around the same age as him) but couldn't keep his balance to stay on and get the job done. I'm thinking it's time to seperate him but he would be all by himself because we have no others (besides the lil' Serama pullets) to put him in with that is around the same size. He's been working hard on his crow as well. Again, is this normal behavior for his age or is he just going to be a really young breeder? I figure at this age he's still shooting blanks ...is there anywhere I can find any breed specific info on the Seramas genetic makeup and breeding genetics/behaviors ... whats good and whats not?? (Besides Jerry's site, I've read alot there and he's very informative)

I have a little roo about the same age doing the same thing the little girls don't know what on earth to do. This will be interesting to see everyones thoughts. I'm sure they aren't mature enough to "really breed" we have just been seperating them when he gets his urge.

At that age, it's kind of like male puppy behavior. They are doing something, but they don't know why yet or what they are doing really. Unless he's getting really out of hand with the girls, he can stay with them.
