She looks so tiny in your hand! Awwww. I love little fuzzy chicks! My broody just hatched 5 more of our SQ Australorp strain.
Its even better when you have a ton of them.. and you can gently run your hands through them.
The most fun I ever had with chicks was the time we ordered 300 Cornish Rocks.
I sat in the pen and put scoops of chicks in my lap. It was like a chick-ocean and soooo soft and cute!

shelleyd2008--LMAO-Booty cleaning.... it's not the best job in the world, but still rewarding when they grow up!

Is anyone from the thumb area of Michigan have any serama roosters available? We had 2 that have been together for about a year and they seem to have killed each other. We found them tangled together. They had never fought before this. Very sad. We have seven girls and would even be willing to trade one or two girls for a roo. All of our girls are SCNA bred.

hi all i'm new to seramas but i have a question, do the chicks that hatch out all yellow always feather out white or do they feather out whatever? i have 2 little chicks that are 3to 4 days old and one is a really light yellow and the other is a darker yellow. thanks

Txmel....they can feather out whatever. I have a yellow chick feathering out in brown patterns at the moment. I have some that feather out white, then others that feather out white and black...it depends what gene pool you got them from and whether or not they were cleaning house color-wise.

so i guess its just wait and see like most things involving chickens.

Baby Serama chicks are like Christmas presents! You never know what they will look like until they feather out completely :-)

My Seramas live indoors. Here's the cage I use for a trio and it's perfect for them. I do take them outside in the back yard several times a week, as well.

the cage I have is the larger version of this, it's a rabbit habitat. For some reason, I can't find it on the website, it is $139 or so in our local Petsmart store. The plastic on it is dark green, instead of the blue in this one.

Here's the cage I use for brooding my babies in my family room :-)

Since I have babies that we will be keeping, I will be buying another of the large cages on wheels around the first of December. It's my Christmas present from my hubby :-)

My Seramas are outdoor birds. They live in a mixed flock with my other small bantams, but my serama roo is the only roo. My family doesn't like chickens and the crowing would drive them bonkers.

My pen is 8'x16'. My seabrights just jump the fence which I don't mind, but the seramas stay in until i let them out on sunny days. I like them to get fresh air and take dirt baths whenever they want to.
