The other two I hatched this week were both black. One is out of a black cock, and chocolate hen both from Jerry. We're hoping he's a boy, since he would then carry the chocolate gene.

The other is a black/grey chick from Magellan (Juliette's former chocolate based frizzle) over a black pullet. Time will tell....

I've been planning to "make" cuckoo chocolate, but didn't exepct it to just show up. Maybe the boy is split for it. Only time will tell. He's getting paired to my chocolate hen in a few weeks to see what happens.

You may be right about him being split. That would get you there a lot faster. After they get here, be sure and post pics of the chicks from the cockoo and chocalate hen too.

I have three chicks hatched now and another piping.

Their chirping is driving my dog crazy she's like a mother hen and runs to the incubator to see what's wrong.

I am incubating serama eggs and want to get a second incubator. For serama eggs is the Genesis 1588 or the Brinsea Octogon 20 Eco better? Is it better to get the auto turners or is best to hand turn serama eggs? Thanks for you help. I'm hoping to buy the new incubator this Monday or Tuesday.

I have a Brinsea Oct 20 Advanced coming this week. I have only heard good things about Brinseas. I needed something easier to use, less babysitting than my LG plus I wanted an egg turner. I feel the less I can touch the eggs the better when it comes to these little guys.
