Hi folks -

Just wanted to share my latest project - I know this cockerel is kinda "U" shaped, but he's only about 8-9 months old right now, so I'm hoping he will improve as he matures. I'm going to work on shortening up the back on his offspring (don't mind the junk, he's on my husband's workbench):

I also have this little guy who hatched in January. I had all my seramas housed together at the time I collected the eggs, so I don't know exactly who his parents were, but I have a pretty good idea. He was the only one that hatched with this color/pattern - I know he's barred, but his base color is odd - it looks blue in this pic, but in person, I can't tell if its blue or dun or chocolate. He looks pretty good, when I'm not pointing a big scary camera at him:

I plan to do some test breeding this year in pairs so I can ID colors and isolate certain traits. Wish me luck!!!

I don't know who but I do know that several serious Serama Breeders will be there. They are working on getting the STandards for White Serama approved there, I think.

Spring fever here. I can't wait to see everyones new chicks. I have some in the incubator now with different hatch dates. The first possible to hatch are due Monday April 14th then some to hatch the 19th. After that, I have 8 eggs (5 from the place I got the black and chocolate hen) and 3 from those hens that were laid since they got here so I have no idea what colors I'll get.

Here is my little lap rooster, at 2 months old he weighs in at 4.6 ounces. Jerry said his color is copper, so I named him Copernicus. He has some feathers coming in a deep copper color. I can't wait to see him matured. He's got the best personality. When he crows, it sounds like something being strangled, lol. He was sitting in my lap all evening and when I type, he stands up and tries to see what I'm doing then lays back down and goes to sleep.

Ruth,
June said I ought to come too but it's my husbands birthday is tomorrow and we're "going out". I decided to wait on a black rooster. I really want some test breedings to my roosters to see what I get from Truffles before I get another rooster. I'll be able to choose the rooster better too. Truffles and Bugsy were actually from different pens so they probably won't stress over it so I'm going to put the black hen with T-Roo tomorrow. I'm getting an egg a day from them but I need to know which are Truffles eggs. I'm thinking I need another incubator
