Im not saying that people should not have PQ serama and breed them, but like you said, do not sell them as SQ and make sure people know that they are not SQ. What I am saying is that people that want to breed serama for a purpose should breed toward the perfection of the breed.

Here is my question to you Silver Duckwing, can you please define "purpose" in your last sentence?? I LOVE the Serama breed, I love my two "babies" and they are with me solely for the joy they bring me. Are you saying I should not breed my "babies" just because they would not enhance the "perfection of the breed"?

SilverDuckwing most likely will not answer that for you. Sadly, my last reply from SilverDuckwing was he will not be returning to the thread and hopes it is closed. I am saddened by this decision because it seems so unnecessary. Today was not the first time I've seen people question comments made by other members about birds, etc. in an effort to keep the thread friendly and open to everyone who loves or has Seramas. Why this was so different I don't know other than it ruffled the wrong feathers. I'm not sorry I spoke up, it needed to be said, but I think we might just want to move on and go back to all the fun

:)Great having another chicken friend and ur my First SERAMA FB friend. ZEPHYR is handsome & adorable. Sorry about Aggie, I deal w/ death a lot, as I have many farm animals,it is always painful but I just try to deal w/ it & count my blessings. I'm bottle feeding 2 kids now & hope they stay alive & healthy, life is fragile.

Well I am going to bed as they will need another bottle sooner than I will want to get up & give it to them !!! My best to you, Elizabeth

Elizabeth, thank you for the FB add

I'm loving having all these BYCers on there everyday to continue the chicken (and animal) fun. It's great to be surrounded by so many awesome people

And thank you, death is just so hard. I am ok with my decision because I know it's the right one, but I'm still not "ok" with it, if that makes sense? I am the type of person who always like to fix things and make everyone better. It is really hard for me when I can't and I've been dealing with that a lot lately. I take in the special need chicks from my feed store every year and so far I've lost 2 of them and one of my own at the same time all in the matter of a week. It was just a bit overwhelming. Then Friday, they call me with a cross beak EE chick. I almost said no, but she's the sweetest thing so what could I say?

I love the bottle comment

My daughter's friend has a lamb in her house right now and they have to feed it all the time too. Right now they are all fighting over who gets to feed it but I'm sure that will end soon!

I know it must be hard to put down animals...but if they have problems that can't be fixed then I think it's for the best..don't blame yourself!

Sorry about Aggie hon!!

I had to put down a Fav cockerel a month or two ago that I had shipped here, and he sustained some kind of head injury in transit. I gave him 3 months to try to recover, and he never did. He ate and drank and crowed, but he would never be able to live with the other birds, or have a normal "chicken life" so we put him down. My heart goes out to you...

Yes that is sad. There is no reason people can't disagree and move on. There was no hatred, name calling or anything like that. We kept our 'discussion' to our questions about what was said and breed related and have now resumed our normal posting. Jerry is entitled to his own opinion and he still has awesome looking Seramas that everyone will covet, nothing will change that! Just as we are allowed to ask questions and counter things that have been said. I hope Silverduckwing chooses to come back at some point. And I can't wait to see many more pics posted on this thread, both show quality and PQ!

Oh and WTG on everyone that worked very hard to get Seramas to be an accepted breed! Serama people deserve recognition for all their hard work on the breed standard!
