These are my young goofy looking (some of them) Seramas. Please don't mind their sad dirty feathers. They were shipped to me and did have to be stuck in a box a while. Scared to clean the feathers and make them sick!!!

This one looks so pathetic right now. this one has both silky and frizzled feathers. XD XD XD I'm hoping it matures and looks a little nicer.

It's hard enough to tell what color(s) a Serama has but even more difficult with juvenile feathers just coming in, they will change again before they're mature. There are some colors that are not so hard to tell, wheaten isn't that hard, but when they mature and all the color genes come out, the appearance may be so different than you think it's just crazy. SO, I haven't a clue, lol.

The more I see of them grow up, the more I figure it's easier just to wait and watch to see how they color up and I get some cool surprises.

Agreed! This is why I have trouble parting with any of my birds until they're six to nine months old. Makes it hard to promise people anything (I have some really nice people who want seramas from me and I have chicks right now), but darn it, I simply can't give them up when I don't even know what they're going to look like as adults! And then of course I get attached from them being around so long, so it's a problem.

I had one chick who hatched completely white, started feathering in completely white, feathered in as a juvenile as almost a splash-looking pattern, and turned out being more like a white-laced wheaten. She's a pretty bird!

Agreed X2!!

6-9 months is the ideal age to decide whether to sell or not, but I have space issues here, so I have to make that decision way earlier! Having frizzled birds make it that much more difficult for me...Since all my boys are frizzled, I can't use the frizzled birds I produce - it really complicates my color projects!

One of my favorite colors of the seramas is the cocopop. everyone usually just sold one or they got rid of a pair awhile back.
