If you help to soon they could also die. That has happened to me once. I thought it was dead and low and behold it wasn't. The egg had not been absorbed and it died a few minutes later. I was so mad at myself.

i would say hen . but its so hard to tell . i have 15 right now and trying to figure it out my self . its a tough call. very pretty bird !
