this is why I still keep some of my rollers around I have a incubator but try and not use it did that and chicks were weak from incubator hatch so I came up with let the pigeon hatch the seramas and guess what its works lol since then any extra eggs my hens lay I let the pigeons hatch them out cause seramas hens are really small so only 9 eggs max any more then that I give to my rollers .....

mutt serama is sitting and thanks again cara for filling me in.....operation switch:cool: commences saturday night

Yeah! Are you so excited or what! Now you will be checking it every few minutes. Be sure to put a thermomter in your brooder box. I didn't and it got to hot and I lost one of my Absolutely beautiful Zoomummzy chicks. I am still beating myself up over it!

Planning on building a new coop this year and I need some ideas. What do you guys house your Serama in?
Right now I just have two small tractor style coops. I am wanting more of a shed type so I can put multiple pens inside...

Memphisjourney2seramas - Yes, last night I came in from working on our pool and I saw he was finally starting to zip so I took a seat and watched him. It is simply amazing how they get out!

I don't have a thermometer in their brooder, but I have their light turned off, they were panting and it's already 90 something in the room they are in so I doubt they need it. I may take them outside later and let them get some sunshine.

SunshineSteedFarm - Thanks!

On your coop question, I have my duo of Seramas in a hutch with a run underneath. Works great.

nurseshelly - Hardly anything else is egg-citing as watching a chick come into the world.
