We may have all got our start from him, but we have all developed our own lines and honestly, I'd rather brag about my lines than name drop. Everyone knows I bought 6 hens from Pixiechicks in her last auction but they are now my hens and part of my of breeding lines - Castle Delights. I am thankful for her skills and projects and I give her credit for these hens on my website because she deserves it! And yes, Jerry (half of my birds are directly from his lines through another breeder) and so on and so on - I could drop about 3 more names here. I think we are just saying we all love Seramas and we all know everyone has different quality birds. Drop your own name and be proud of it. I am! I'm loving my lines and I'm loving the fact they are being spread around the country right now

And well said Hatching Fever. My birds are not perfect and never will be. I've done my best to create the best I can and I'm happy with that. Perfection in anything is highly overrated. What a boring world it would be if everything was perfect

x2!
(And, let's all remember that there is NO PERFECT serama!)

sorry dang while i slept lots of posting lol....

my incubator was a hova 1602N but i recently switch to the genesis and have 8 eggs in now and crossing fingers this is better....seems more accurate so far.

i keep humidity around 50-55% as it is drier here im 15 min from palm springs.

i have fertility just not vitality....im really hoping things change as i have been evolving thru this lol.

btw didnt mean to ruffle tail feathers but i think when dealing with people humility is the best way to go...you never know who is watching new or not that you may intimidate or turn off to the whole subject.
apologies if i offended but thought it needed to be said....im the new guy here and not easily turned off but honestly im sure there are a ton of others that had been.

CARA i put eggs under the broody....she seemed happier she had more lol.....now i will spoil her while on the nest and give her special foods to keep her happy....im a call that hen squats....cuz thats all i want her to do on those eggs lol

Here he is YES he is booted anyone want him PLEASE take him I have no need for him hes free to a good home NOT A STEW POT

its a he and I posted the picture I have to many males and he doesnt make the cut.

My friend has 2 serama pullets - no intent to breed/show. Since she doesn't have a computer I read this thread and many others so I may absorb some info to pass on to her. Nine times out of ten, I leave without finishing the new posts because there is so much back biting, and negativity, and "MY" birds are so much better than" YOUR "birds coop blindness. This is just so reminiscent of the dog show world, etc. I had my 15 minutes of fame there and numerous champions etc.

They didn't have computer forums etc. in that day but, if you joined the breed clubs and especially if you didn't - boy, would the nasty remarks and gossip(to the max) fly. I surely don't miss it with the dogs, and see no reason to expose myself to more of the vitriolic nature re:chickens. I know there are nice people posting on this thread but the nasties are driving people away. What a shame. Some people surely need anger management therapy. Maybe they should be banned from the site until they get it.
The nice, supportive, people friendly posters know who they are, for the others "If the shoe fits....."

When I was involved in showing my horse and the show world it was the same mentality, I am best/mines the best/blah blah blah, so far in the chicken world it has NOT been the case at all and it is SO wonderful to be involved in BYC because of this. And if there is a bad apple in the barrel in this case best to ignore it and let sleeping dogs lie.....

OH, hope your friend might be able to take Jake's little man there!
