I have 28. I did cat rescue 3 years ago and got stuck with the ones no one would take - a few problem children, some special needs ones and a few I just fell in love with.

Ok, how do you ladies manage to keep all those cat's paws off your little fuzzies???? My neighbor's cats killed a few of my favorites when they were out in the run for sun bathing, they just yank my little fuzzies right through the chicken wire when I wasn't watching.

Littleman was the latest victim to cat.

He was adorable! Well, as for me, I'm very very careful with the cages and making sure my birds are not lose. Zephyr is the only one who has the run of a room but no cats are allowed in it and I'm OCD about making sure they stay out. All my cages are inside and have hardware cloth wire and secured doors with locks. It's a constant vigil, but so far I've never lost a bird. I've had near scares when one decides to take a flying leap! but I think the cats are more freaked out by that than interested.

thanks jake but i have 2 pullets that when they start laying will go in with the black tailed buff....

joey dude im so sorry that lil guy looked like another younger champ.....darn cats i hate them when they are not bird friendly....

ok i have a question....my broody i never see her off nest which is a good thing but 2 times a day when i check i find a humongous poop in the cage ...is this normal do they like save it up all day just to make for a really big one....its disturbing how big it is.

im so lame it took cara telling me that chicken arent like people and that they dont have nookie at night lol.....i thought they did if mood hit them LOL. i thought it was happening only to find a bird dead.....apparently heart attack mimick nookie flapping.....this happened a while ago i know better now lol
