That's terrifice, Jake! I'm really happy that he has a great home with you.

I got some feedback on a thread I started to identify this chick. Folk said it may be a Serama, and the are probably right, but I don't see the resemblence in the body type, and I swear it hatched from a medium size white egg. What do you all think?

And if so, what color and gender. It has no comb at all, but it looks like it has hackle feathers coming in.

Ideally, 7-10 days they say but I've had eggs hatch 21 days old and from in the fridge! I try to set mine (or ship mine) within the 7-10 days just to make sure.

I have a Brinsea Advanced so it's at 99.6 always (I calibrated it to make sure). I've been incubating at 45-50% humidity and then upping it to 70-75% for hatching. I mainly watch the air sac during incubation more than the exact humidity. I stop turning at the end of day 18 and rarely have one hatch before day 20.

Thank you , I want to set 6 of them but didntknow about the wait .. I have 3 right now . What should I do with the other eggs she lays? I feel bad for not hatching them & they really won't make much if a meal lol

Not sure...I sell of mine that I don't set. Do you have friends who might want to incubate Seramas? I give a lot of mine away to local friends.

He's also been getting a gf for about 2 hours everyday and he will be getting a perminet gf soon thanks I really love this guy hes so typey.

Wow, it doesn't say Serama to me...but maybe it will to others. It just looks all wrong...for a Serama.

sorry, doesn't look Serama to me either.

Maybe an Easter Egger with a pea comb?

Eat the extras, they are good. No reason to incubate every single egg that is laid in the world. They will keep in the fridge until you have several. Or scramble or boil them and feed back to your Serama for extra protein, they love them.

Not so, no disqualification (at any show) for an imperfect comb, only points deduction. In the scheme of things, a perfect comb
may be valued at 5 points, one spike missing, or one extra spike, at worst, may be a 2 point deduction. If all things are OK, I would NOT cull a birds for an imperfect (number of spikes) but would for a large comb or a floppy comb (like a leghorn) or a spooned or a rose comb. IMO

Thanks Jerry I will follow SCNA guideline .... also thank you for the white rooster he has what i needed in that color and my next project very healthy bird ... he always pose and no creepers genes at all very well balances bird ....
