Got her last year from a local breeder and she been great but since I have lots of bloodline from her and its time to more on to the next step ...... two came out chocolate well down feather is chocolate and the other is a mottled chocolate dont know what they will be just yet but I sure do love this color .....

Before you received these birds you told me you were going to de worm them and treat them for mites upon arrival. I told you they were 6 weeks old chicks ,had always been on wire and did not have worms nor mites. Did you worm and treat for mites, anyway? If so, this could be your problem. Also, the birds were still on grow crumbles, what are you feeding them.? Did you put nasty tasting stuff in their water and they are not drinking. What kind of shavings are you using? Cedar is toxic to serama. Some times the birds are fine and we cause our own problems

Yes i did de worm with Diatious earth in food Yes i got rid of the mites yes i bathed them when i got them Shaveings they are on wire here. Nasty water i gave them viatmins manually the first 3 day they arrived and gatorade in the water. Now the rest that are left(2 from the 4 you sent me) are inside under a heat lamp and getting antibiotics mixed with vitamin B they are getting in manully from me opening there mouth and putting it down there throat. There are on lay pellets mixed with scratch and grounded up safflower seeds with some very fine grided corn.

I would not even try to de worm them in the first few weeks cause they are still stress out from shipping and I would never give my seramas gatorade maybe this is why they are getting sick or dying on you little bro I had mine for about a week now and they are doing just fine I just added them to my flock and they are very healthy so I dont think its jerrys bird at all you should of give them Sav-A-chic vitamin and let them rest and settle in from the stress of shipping ... try this next time and see if they make it or not ..... gatorade is not vitamin for chickens or seramas at all

I agree. While I didn't treat my birds I got from Juliette last month, I still had one die from the stress of the trip. I think some are just not able to handle the shipping. I'm sorry for your losses.

Exactly, no one's fault at all, it just happens, sadly. The little girl I lost was Tammy, a chocolate gene carrier. I only had her a couple weeks but I really loved her and was looking forward to possibly some chocolate or chocolate gene carrying babies. I am just sad for the loss of her. She was a beautiful little girl.

This is your problem, as I said these birds are only 6 -8 weeks old and have always been on chick crumbles that I run through the grist mill, it's powdered. Here you are tryng to feed them lay pellets with mixed scratch with ground up safflower. They are not eating that stuff and you are starving them to death.. Had I know you were no more responsible in taking care of young birds I would not have sent them. When I mentioned to try gator aid on the bird that arrived almost dead that was a way to get nutrition down its throat in a hurry and not meant to be used continuously.

Sorry kid, you're killing your birds, don't try to hang that one on me. Give them the right kind of food and forget all the injections and medications. They need nothing but Chick crumbles and plain water.
