Hi, I am really new to keeping chickens so dont know that much about them apart from they are so lovely and follow me everywhere lol!! I have had mine (4 of them) for about 3 weeks and 1 of them lays and 2 of them are getting darker pink combs now but my other one doesnt seem to be doing much and its comb hasnt really grown!
Can you tell me if its just a slow starter??
Also is it def female? and can you please tell me what breed it is!!
Sorry about all the questions lol

Kath, the photos sure look like females to me. Are they all the same mysterious breed? Some breeds mature at slower rates than others...
What color are the legs?

Oh i read somewhere that the legs and colour of comb tell you how near they are to laying! nevermind i guess i will learn about them eventually i intend to have loads of chickens lol!!!
Thank you xx

You'll know if the black ones are austrolorps if they have black legs and the bottoms of their feet are white, only the bottoms.

Yeah, so I forgot to say...

LOL! Sorry.

If your black has white legs, maybe it's possibly a black orphington? If so, that's awesome.

Ooh, I wanted to add... The black's comb's mighty red. I think that's a roo.
