At what age do guineas start making their different noises?

Young Hens can start clearly buck-wheating as early as 5-6 wks old (sometimes you can even hear them doing a 2 syllable squeaky/chirpy noise as early as a couple weeks old, but it's not a clear buck-wheat call). They'll all scream the chi-chi-chi sound tho (typically the only call the males make besides the chirps, peeps and trills), so you really can't tell the males by their call when they are young... I usually have pretty decent luck sexing the males by their behavior, posture, frequent chi-chi-chi screaming and sometimes their wattles (all these clues combined) at around 8-10 wks (wattles aren't always a good indicator tho, either sex can have either kind of wattles or even one of each

due to bad genetics).
