Male guinea

I have had guineas, turkeys, ducks, geese, & chickens sharing space for many years. I have to admit they have lots of space to roam many acres so that of course helps. Various birds have disagreements from time to time. Sometimes it is a turkey and rooster, sometimes a hen & hen, sometimes it may be a guinea and a turkey hen. These disagreement are generally short lived and mostly no blood drawn.

I did have a guinea male try to take on a turkey tom a few years ago. The tom grabbed the guinea as they would generally grab another turkey tom and shook the guinea thus breaking the guinea's neck and killing it. This was a one time occurance in several years.

Anyway, the guineas generally stay to their own kind as do the other birds, however they do share the coops with each other. I do believe it helps to have the guinea keets grow up with chicks since everyone gets used to seeing all the other various birds and they grow up thinking it is normal.

Hoping you have a successful co-existance.

I have had both for many years and had no trouble that wouldn't ordinarily occur between just chickens. I have noticed that guineas don't like it when roosters fight and will try to break it up by giving them the fake rush treatment. Roosters often mate with the guineas but not the other way around. I now have ducks and they all ignore each other for the most part unless there is a small squabble over who get the food at that point in time. Right now there are 2 generations of guineas as well as 2 generations of chickens essentially in the same area. The older guineas mostly pick on the younger ones but ignore the younger chickens. I would say the young guineas are on the bottom of the totem pole but then they are the fastest so they just run or fly away.

I've had squabbles between my guineas but like someone else said they stick in their own group for the most part. I think if you try to socialize them they're more likely to compete with the chickens. Mine sleep in the same coop as the chickens and eat together when I first let them out. I know when they will be coming around in the afternoon and try to have their bowls full. The chickens eat all morning and later in the day. It just isn't a problem for me. I have 15 adult guineas and a ton of chickens - all colors and both sexes - on four acres, all free ranging. They don't bother the ducks or geese either.
