Male or female dark brahma?

I found this info, below, on a U.K. forum - the writer says she can determine the sex of her Dark Brahmas at one day old. Have you heard of this method?

"I'm lucky that I can sex my dark chicks at day olds... my pullets hatch with dark wide triangle on top of their head and have eyeliner
wink.gif
boys have a thinner line on their head and eyes show no sign of eye liner
wink.gif
Guess I'm just lucky as the bloke I got my brahmas from years ago told me how to sex my darks when they hatch."

I have three precious day-old Brahmas, and they do look very different.

-One has a grey chest, and a dark-all-over head and face.
-Another has a creamy chest, creamy markings on the face, a dark blotch on the forehead, and distinct eyeliner. (female?)
-The third has a silver chest with a dark charcoal smudge, a darker face and a little bit of cream highlighting, but no eyeliner.

Based on the poster's remarks, maybe I have one sure pullet? Maybe? Or is it truly impossible to tell at one day old with this breed.

This is my first time hatching Brahmas. I'd be glad for any input.

Thanks!

I don't think you can really tell. The gentleman I got mine from raises dark Brahma's and said he was very good at sexing them and 3 of my 4 he was wrong. They were roosters. It was interesting, two of the boys looked almost identical when we got them at about a week old and the other two looked very much alike, but one ended up being a girl and one ended up being a boy. I will look and see if I can find a picture of my girls, Scrambled. quote name="Cerise1924" url="/t/1135064/male-or-female-dark-brahma/30#post_17976431"]I found this info, below, on a U.K. forum - the writer says she can determine the sex of her Dark Brahmas at one day old. You are correct. Once I look back at their pictures, Scrambled is the only one with the eye liner. This is my baby now. I love her to death!
