You can cross her with a pharaoh colored bird and still get one of the golden color phases. Brown is incomplete dominant but golden is dominant. Mixing the two you end up with a golden speckled quail. Crossing her against a gold manchurian could result in a manifestation of the lethal gene present in manchurians. Nothing actually dies for a lethal gene just appx 25% of eggs will be infertile. Crossing her with an speckled or italian gold quail shouldn't cause manifestation of the lethal gene though.

What about the light birds. I have some that have almost no speckles and light yellow breasts. What do I look for to sex them? Red or black ring around the neck? Does no speckles mean it's a male regardless of how golden the breast is?
I'm having a hard time sexing them by foam production.

Ahh! I'm worried both my Italians are male now I was reeeaaaally hoping for females. Their chests look pretty speckle-free :/ They are about 3 1/2 weeks old.
