This is my 2 month old Maran. I’m really feeling it’s a boy. Anyone sure yet?

I’m not allowed a rooster where I live so I need to start working on a new home if he is.

Thank you,
Owain

Thank you all, I was pretty sure he was a cockerel, but I wanted to ask. I got him mail order. I was told he was a Black Copper Maran. I was thinking he was possibly a Cuckoo Maran, by mistake, but looking at the feathered legs it does look like a barred cochin. I'll start working on a new home for him. Thanks again

French Marans have feathered legs, so you really can't go on that. The leg color is what indicates Cochin over Marans. Cochins do tend to have more feathering on the legs, but they have yellow legs; Marans have white.
