Hi everyone this is my 8 week old faverolle x plymouth barred rock (not autosexed as mum was the faverolles)

He/she is gorgeous bird very confident and friendly but I still can't figure out the sex.

Any ideas 💡 🤔 👀 🙂

Thanks x

It is not the size of the comb but the color of the comb that will helpnyou guess. A male will usually have a very bright red comb at 8 weeks. I don't see a male comb in the photos, yet.

You can see by the comb and wattles, but it is also sex-linked so you can tell by the color that it is a male. Males will hatch barred and females will have solid coloring.

The female would need to be barred for this to happen. She said the female was a favorelle. In this case all would be barred.
