male or female?

I am new to this chicken biz. I have three little hens...well I HOPE they are hens! Just wondering when and how do I tell if I have hens or roos?

depends on the breed and the age (plus, we're a bunch of chicken addicts and just want to see pictures of yours). try to get a nice picture of the face - for comb and waddle comparisons. also maybe a nice picture of the back with someone holding the wings out - for feather pattern comparisons. When you get responses, try to look for "I raise this breed" or "I've got a bunch of those" and give a little more weight to guesses by folks that have the breed. I have a Gold Sexlink pullet with a comb that screams "rooster", except that she's a sexlink and 100% hen.
