Ok so i have 3 male Coturnix quail, and 2 female (numbers might change if the eggs in the bator hatch) Anyway, i was wondering, if i take my most docile male, and put him with the 2 females, while the other 2 males would be put in a "bachelor pad" of sorts, do you think that would work out? They all grew up together and haven't started fighting, but this would be a precaution. So basically, would 1 docile male and 2 females be a good ratio?

Usually people recommend 4-7 females for a male. In a large aviary, 1 male for 2 females might work, but in an ordinary cage it's likely to cause over breeding.

You didn't say how old they are. Once the male's hormones kick in he will need more than two hens or he will over breed them, causing stress, lack of eggs and feather picking. For their well being there needs to be at least four hens unless they have spacious digs.
