Hello! I currently have a blue slate/ lavender Tom who’s a year and a couple months old, that I believe has gapeworm.
He has lost a lot of weight over the last two and a half months (this is how long he’s been doing awfully and exhibiting symptoms). He coughs and gapes and gasps for air like he’s out of breath and extends his neck out far. He is always out of breath and gasping and shaking his head and neck as if trying to clear his throat. He hasn’t displayed, or gobbled or vocalized for the past two months since he’s been feeling bad. We’ve tried different things for respiratory infections but none of that worked. He shows all the symptoms of gapeworm and he’s been like this for two months now so we are starting to really think this is what he has. But I’m not sure.
The birds that live in the pen next door to him seem fine and healthy and have been all two months, it is just him that’s this way but it’s awful. I just want to treat it if this is what it is and make it go away. I was suggested to try this? My mom ordered it and it will be here in a couple days. I just need help with dosages. Thanks for your time and help

I ask because UC Davis has a lab in Tulare and maybe you could figure out how to get them to test your turkey for respiratory diseases and worms.
How might I go about that? I’m looking at the site but lil confused. Should I still at least attempt to treat him on my own with the safeguard first since it just a 5 day? And then contact if it doesn’t work? Or what do you think? The safeguard will be here Thursday.
