I'm so beyond upset right now. Literally overnight, my 3 khaki campbell drakes started ganging up on my pekin drake and picked all the feathers out of his crest. Up until now, it's been the pekin picking on the khakis, but no injuries resulted from that. I guess they all decided overnight that they were done with his crap. I've since separated the khakis from the rest (though one of the little turds managed to get back in the other pen, no idea how :barnie). The pekin is obviously hurting and i can't stop crying every time i look at him. I know what needs to happen; we need to cull at least 2of our drakes to balance things out. I'm mostly just venting to you guys since i know you'll understand how upsetting it is. Mr. Pekin isn't even a friendly duck, nor is he my favorite. I just can't stand seeing any animal suffer. This sucks :( 20190205_123417.jpg

Poor guy, I understand how you feel, I can’t stand seeing animals suffer either. If it were me all three KC drakes would be moved to a drakes only pen immediately. As they get older, their hormones will boost, especially as breeding season hits, your females will be in danger from gang mating. Gang mating can result in severe conjunctivitis, caused from the drakes saliva entering the hens eye as more than one male attempts to breed her. Again, so sorry you’re having these issues with your duckies, I recommend, for the time being, spraying the Pekins wound with an antibacterial or applying neosporin to lower chances of infection.
