Males going broody

not so long ago I noticed that one of my male runner ducks was collecting eggs in the corner and attempting to sit on them and protect them. Any ideas on why he is broody ish.

Huh?..I'm confused because that's not a trait of Drakes.

My Tom turkey was doing the same thing while my hens free ranged. Either they're confused or just good dads lol.
