males not doing what they are supposed to???

we had 4 male ducks, 3 are runner cross. a few weeks ago we got 3 appleyard female ducks in the hope that we may get some ducklings or fertilised eggs, however our male ducks wont go anywhere near the ladies and one of our male ducks still insists on jumping on the back of one of the others, do ducks breed at certain times of the year, do females come into season, what is wrong with our men???

You have to give them time to accept the girls into the flock

how many would you suggest and how long does it take for them to be accepted as at the moment the girls keep themselves to themselves and the boys the same

It can take a few weeks for them to accept each other.
You need 4-6 females per male to avoid the females being overbred and the males from fighting.
