Males Together?

I've recently got into breeding quails but, of course, I'm going to end up with too many males to females.

For me, I just like having them as pets and an interest rather than for eggs or eating so my question is, could I keep all the males in one cage or would they fight?

I'd rather keep them in a cage than cull them but if needs must.

I don't know anything about Quail but a friend of mine has a coupe chicken roosters that live together with no problem. There is no female at all so they have nothing to fight about? Maybe its just a quirk but works for her and the pet roosters get along fine.

Generally you can keep all males in one pen together as long as they cannot SEE any females. Once they have a look at the females, it can send them into fight mode.

I had 5 roosters together once and they didnt fight, they just took turns mating with each other,

i read that (and have met some) males that were raised together from chicks usually do fine if there are no females in sight/earshot, as mentioned above. for awhile, i had 3 male button quail that, despite being in clear view of females right next to them, were as happy as clams.

Thanks. Will definitely be trying them together. Hope it all works out. I'm delighted with my new little birds and it would be a shame to have to get rid of them. As I said before, it's an interest for me and I'm not bothered about egg production at all.

My chickens give me more eggs than I can use anyway.
