Malformed egg

I just went and examined it again...definitely mottled in some areas Another egg has one small spot that looks like it might be---but I will give that one a chance still. Now I am just unsure as to what to do about the main egg in question. I have seen such polar opposite opinions (some say they hatch them successfully and others say its a waste of space). Decisions, decisions.

Just keep an eye on it. At this stage of incubation, you're not adding more eggs, so it's not like it's taking up a good egg's spot. I don't even exclude porous eggs unless I have a surplus of good ones to replace them.

You can't really depend on what other people say because they all do things differently.
A person who dosen't have a very clean set up or older hens or even just incorrect calibration may have sabotaged the imperfect egg themselves.
I have sucessfully hatched imperfect eggs, I didn't have many eggs so it was necessary so it isn't impossible.

That's what I was trying to convey, @Chickassan . "They" say not to set them, but you also have to use your judgment. I wouldn't exclude a good egg for an imperfect one, but if I have room, I'll give em a shot.

Okay. Thank you! All this advice has been very helpful. I suppose we will just see how it goes and hopefully it will have a healthy hatch despite its oddities.
