I currently own three Muscovy hens and I would like to breed mule ducks for their meat.

All the articles I find online mention using a Muscovy Drake and Mallard hens.

Is there any reason why I couldn't use a large Mallard breed Drake to breed to my muscovies to produce mule ducks?

yes you could but they may have a differant result than you are hoping for because the male femle breeds were swapped. i would like to know how this turns out if you go forward. thank you

I found an article that talks about mule ducks, and also mentions the reverse cross, which they call hinnies.
