Mallard Duckling eye shut

I have 5 Mallard Ducklings all are healthy and doing well but one seems to keep just one of his eyes shut and the eye also seemed pretty stressed so i took the duckling from the cage and put contact fluid around his eye to try and ease any discomfort or any irritation the duckling might have in his eye. I then rinsed the contact fluid out with water thats why the ducklings head is wet. At first I thought maybe something was stuck in it but after i cleaned the eye out he still had it shut so do u kno what happening here? do you think my duckling has lost sight in his right eye? any advise

Hard to say about his vision, but I would be tempted to apply antibiotic ointment to his eye.
