Mallard ducklings ~ Feathering, please help!

One of my mallard ducklings has green tinted head feathers. "He's" only five weeks old... Is this supposed to happen? Does this mean it's a drake? Or is it a different duck all together? Please let me know! I can send pictures if needed!

I've heard that sometimes females will have specks of green at this age too. Look for green all around his face, then it'll be male. At this age it's easiest to voice sex though.

My girls' dark head feathers had a green sheen to them when they were young - freaked me out as well, I was afraid I'd gotten all boys again! If you hear the beginnings of loud quacks you've definitely got a girl though.
