Mallard/rouen/call duck breeding

I'm planning on breeding my gray calls to my medium sized rouens to create a "false mallard" I'm looking for any tips or concerns besides the size difference? I'm hoping that they can fly if I can breed them to be small It would be call male and rouen female

You may find a lot a variety in the size of your offspring. Big x small doesn’t always = medium. I am curious why want false mallards since true exist?

I think it would just be a cool project since I collect mallard colored breeds I have true Mallards aswell as mallards crossed with rouens

I don't really plan on the first generation being the right size and I don't like havin to mark my mallards
