Do Mallard's have a loud quack or a very quiet one. My jet doesn't make much noise and I was wondering if something is wrong or if Mallards are very quiet. I thought Jet was a girl, but am not sure now. She is starting to molt, so we will see what her true colors are pretty soon.

They are loud.. Well at least from my experience but we have always had alot around. And the hens seem to be always noisy! They are also very descrutive. I raised only 5-6 this year and put them in with my wood ducks.manadirns ect thinking they will be okay till they get their flight feathers.. needless to say they ate all teh grasses I had planted in our little pen tand then they started picking on my other ducks.. They made their way to the pond quickly!

How old is Jet ? I have 2 call girls and One has been VERY loud since about 2 months... The other is very quiet almost like one of my drakes but with a higher pitch... in the last month or so she has becomes more vocal.. they are 7 months... does Jet have a curl in the tail ?

I got Jet July 8th and figure she was about a week old then, so the must be around 4 months old. You can barely hear any noise coming from her. It is not a quack at all... more like a quiet mumble.

My girls let out some super loud 'whak whak whaks!' but usually only when they want something or are peeved about something lol otherwise pretty quite.

Like someone with a sore throat, and they cannot get louder then you talking to someone else. Girls are way louder they sound like they are screaming at the level of a dog barking. Really loud.

Then Jet is a drake. He sounds like he has a cold. He is just starting to molt... so Maybe he will get boy colors here soon. That is kind of exciting.
